As Mythirion has posted his, i thought i should do mine at the same time.

Fellow members, I am resigning from the ACK Staff as i am not active and no longer have time to be on this site. I have moved on to bigger and better things while i am starting my new hosting site, iHostNet. I hope too see all of you around in the future.

I also worry about the future. Maybe an image change will help? Like a name change and a theme change.

You could make the site about all video games or something and not just Animal Crossing, that might attract more people.

I agree. Animal Crossing has honestly lost it's special touch. Especially considering that CF really wasn't that good, but, this has always been an AC site, so I dunno.

ACC is easy to use and nice looking. That's why ACC is staying afloat.

The Bell Tree is just staying afloat, as well as AXA.

Diamond Luster is thriving.

All of the others are dead/dying.

Casual players look for websites that are easy to use, while hardcore players join as many gaming sites as possible. As AC has lost its appeal to the hardcore audience, ACK is dying. ACK is easy to use and nice-looking, but it's not well-known.

A video game site would not work as I don't know much about non-Nintendo consoles (which are the most popular among teens). But my brother recently bought a PS3; maybe if I play some games on it, I will get more interested in it.

See? That's another thing. There can really only be four AC, no, less, AC forums with popularity. And DL really has a ton of members, but not much posting other than the OT. Which I can't consider thriving. So I would take DL out of there.

So, that's three. And TBT and AXA can't stay afloat that well either. ACC is mooching off of every single AC website, not only does it look nice and it's easy to use... But it's also been around since 2002, which means it has that much more of an advantage.

There's no use in trying to beat it. I mean, DL is mostly just people who were banned from ACC. The rest of the users, for the most part, are inactive. Unless, of course, they want to talk to their old banned friends. That's why I personally go on.

It's the same thing with TBT and AXA, just the quantity of banished members aren't so high.

Also, Hooky, the site doesn't have to be general Video Game. Just Nintendo works. Wink

Lyle, that's why most people don't come here though. Also, look at the post counts of the OT boards and compare them to the AC boards. Not a pretty site.

We lost two staff members already... maybe if this site wasn't completely AC-made and was a little more publisized (as in telling friends and emailing) then we might get more users.

All I gotta say is that I'm leaving if we abandon our focus on animal crossing- merging would be way more ideal by allowing us to keep our animal crossing identity.

I prefer ACC alot alot more than ACKids. ACC is ALOT easier to use than ACKids.

I don't agree. And actually, I think lots of people hate ACC because of their rules and such. ACK is dying. And it's kinda been dying slowly for a while now...

Well hopefully when the conversion process finishes and we have PTs instead of PMs, we will become more user-friendly and a more popular site.

You're right, ACC's rules and how they're enforced do suck. However, their polls, public threads, organizations, contests, birthday recognitions, and high member visibility make me want to stay there.
